A custom glass tabletop preserves the wood, marble, leather, or finished surface beneath it — adding decades of life by absorbing spills, heat, and the scratches that erode a finish. It also lifts the piece visually: a clean modern read on dining tables, desks, side tables, and vanities that a store-bought cover can't match.
Designers and decorators bring AGG in early because we work off their language. Templates can come from an in-home measure, an in-shop paper template, or designer CAD and shop drawings. Low-iron keeps wood color true on white or light-stained pieces where clear glass would read green, and polished, beveled, or mitered edges turn a functional piece into a designer detail — custom dimensions, radius corners, and cutouts handled in the same fabrication run.

Most dining and desk tops are 3/8" or 1/2" tempered; a glass shelf is 1/4" or 3/8" depending on span and load; oversized statement tops step up to 5/8" or thicker.

Tempered safety glass is the standard, low-iron / Starphire-class is named when color-true tops matter, and the full edge-work range is fabricated to spec. Our SC unlimited GC license #124400 covers residential tops, designer-coordinated built-ins, and light commercial display fabrication.
Custom pricing at AGG is per-piece across four tiers: tabletop protection (clear or low-iron overlays) runs $150–$600+ per piece, custom tabletops with edge work, low-iron, or unique shape run $400–$2,000+ per piece, glass shelves run $50–$300+ per shelf, and built-in shelving packages or display cases run $1,000–$5,000+ in scope. Final pricing depends on size, glass type, thickness, edge work, cutouts, and delivery.
Tabletop protection overlays are typically 3/16" or 1/4" tempered. Most dining, desk, and vanity tops are 3/8" or 1/2" tempered. A glass shelf runs 1/4" or 3/8" tempered depending on span and load. Oversized or mitered statement tops step up to 5/8" or thicker. AGG specs the right thickness during the measure.
Polished is a smooth flat or rounded modern edge — the most common finish, included on most jobs. Beveled is a decorative chamfer cut at the edge, typically 1/2"–3/4" wide. Mitered is a 45° glass-to-glass joint at the corners that reads as one seamless top — premium statement work, longer lead time. AGG cuts and finishes all three by hand.
Tempered safety glass is the spec for any top at seating height and any shelf carrying heavy or breakable items; when broken, tempered crumbles into small pebble-like pieces rather than sharp shards. Annealed is acceptable for thin furniture-protection overlays where the wood is the structural surface. AGG recommends tempered on most projects.
Yes — AGG fabricates non-rectangular tops (oval, racetrack, octagon, freeform from template), radius corners, hardware-pull holes, and custom cutouts for faucet, cooktop, or vanity-fixture clearance. Templates can be in-home, in-shop from paper, or designer CAD. Lead time runs 5–10 days for most custom shapes.
Every AGG consultation is free, designer- and decorator-friendly, and built around your project — virtual photo-based for stock overlays, in-home or in-shop template for custom shapes, or coordinated off CAD when a designer or contractor is leading the spec. We talk through glass, thickness, and edge work, and follow up with a per-piece quote.

I need to replaced a broken seal window pane. It was very easy to schedule the measurement and installation thru Loren. Trevor and Kevin did a fantastic job with the measurement and installation.
Trevor and Kevin did a great job installing the glass in our window.. they cleaned the glass and swept the floor and clean everything up and left it just like they found it .. they are both very friendly and professional glass installers .. I highly recommend them and if we have another window go bad we absolutely will use them again ..

From start to finish our experience was perfect. The tech, Trevor, was tidy, polite, meticulous with his work. We had a couple of non-square pieces that needed precise patterns and he got them traced out exact. I'd highly recommend this company. Prior to calling we were stood up by one, then another came out and said they'd get us an estimate but never did. I was exasperated! Needless to say I was concerned but 3rd time was a charm.

Looking for glass replacement for broken window seal. I wasn’t up for replacing the entire window and called for pricing and info. American Glass & Glazing responded promptly. I appreciate that they sent the same technicians to quote the job and perform the installation. They were on time, kind and courteous. I appreciate craftsmen working on my home having patience and not being in a giant rush to do a job. That is what I got with this company. I’ve decided to add another window for glass replacement that appears to be on its way out. I highly recommend calling American Glass & Glazing for your broken window seals if you have cloudy glass. I wasn’t up for trying to figure out who the window manufacturer is then pay shipping, removing interior shutters and having it installed myself then re-installing shutters & caulk which is how window warranty works. No thanks! If you’re considering a solution for your windows with broken seals, give them a call.
