Wall-Mount and Inline-Panel Hinge Configurations
Every enclosure at this tier uses 3/8" tempered safety glass — up to four times stronger than annealed, and the AGG default for this configuration. For taller panels or oversized openings, we step the spec up to 1/2" tempered (see Heavy Glass with Inline Panel → for the upgrade path).
The mount defines the configuration. A wall-mount version anchors a butt-hinge clamp directly to a stud or solid blocking behind the tile, so the door swings off a finished wall — the right answer for alcove openings. An inline-panel version anchors the clamp to an adjacent fixed glass panel, so the door swings off the panel — the right answer when the opening is wider than a single door (door + fixed panel = full width). A double 2×4 or solid blocking is required behind the tile on the mounting side; the clamp carries the full panel weight, and tile alone won't hold it.
Hardware is CRL (C.R. Laurence) clamps and U-channel, with SecLock handle pulls available where the spec calls for a heavier-duty grip. Walls more than 3/8" out of plumb need shimming at install. Every enclosure is fabricated to the exact opening. No kit sizes.
